2022 Rainstorm Pinot Gris

A bright cool-climate Oregon Pinot Gris. Tropical flavors and great acidity give this wine a clean finish. Pale gold with aromas of crisp pear, melon, and honey blossom. It has a bright clean finish.

Planted in 1992, the Rainstorm Estate Vineyard and Winery are located in the heart of the Valley, the newly recognized and often breezy, Van Duzer Corridor AVA. Committed to crafting aware-winning Pinots at the site for more than two decades.

SOIL

Mainly alluvial deposits.

PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE

Grapes hand-harvested at about 22.5 Brix. Gently pressed and fermented at cool temperatures. This allows for a wine of smooth character, with layered and integrated flavors. We age our Pinot Gris on fermentation lees (for a rich yet bright body) with a portion in large oval casks without malolactic fermentation.

Stone fruit flavors are balanced by fresh acidity.

FOOD PAIRING

Ideal with grilled chicken, fresh shellfish, and pasta in a light cream sauce.
